Hiking & Sightseeing

Guests are welcome to explore our safe and beautiful farm, witness the dairy operations or admire the bird and animal life, which includes duiker, bushbuck, warthog and kudu. The Dorper sheep are Stud animals and little lambs are always a highlight to experience. Guest are most welcome to bring their mountain bikes and drive around on the farm or even if they have a 4x4 vehicle they can be adventurous and take the scenic route on the farm.

Relaxing

Take full advantage of our South African climate by sunbathing next to our swimming pool on those warm summer days. Alternatively, unwind by treating yourself to some reading (or napping!) time under the shade of our lush garden trees.

Game Viewing & Other Activities

The Green Tree Cottages are conveniently close to the esteemed Addo Elephant National Park, Schotia Safaris and Amakhala Game Reserve. Other activities in the surrounding area include enjoying a scenic river cruise or sandboarding session at Sundays River Adventures, a visit to the Daniell Cheetah Breeding Farm , indulging in Addo Elephant Back Safaris and much more.

The charming nearby towns of Grahamstown, Port Alfred, Kenton on Sea & Port Elizabeth are a mere 45 - 70 km drive away from The Green Tree Cottages as well.

Dining

Savour delicious breakfasts and lunches at the Nanaga Farm Stall, just 13 km from The Green Tree, on the way to Addo Park. Wood is available on the farm as well, should guests fancy a braai. Addo Park itself also offers a delightful on-site restaurant.

Any other provisions can be bought from the Spar grocery store in Colchester or Port Elizabeth, en route from the N2. Alternatively, Colchester boasts a charming restaurant, renowned for its steaks and homemade culinary delights.

Bird Watching

For birdwatching enthusiasts, the farm offers rich bird life. Another option is paying a visit to Sundays River/Colchester (26 km), where you can indulge in bird watching from a canoe on the Sundays River. Alternatively, you could take a leisurely beach stroll in Colchester, where you can experience the beautiful moving sand dunes of the Eastern Cape.
